Teacher Access Controls in Delightex

Delightex provides teachers with several classroom management controls to support effective teaching and learning. These settings can be applied to the entire class or per student.

How to change Delightex access controls:

1. Log into your Hello World CS teacher dashboard.
2. Click Profile in the top right dropdown menu.
3. Click "Open Cospaces".
   
   • Please note: Delightex is formerly known as Cospaces. We are working to get this button renamed.
4. Navigate to the Delightex Class you would like to edit.
5. Navigate to the Students tab.
6. Select the students you would like to edit.
7. Click the Actions dropdown menu and make your selection(s).

Available Actions:

Web Search

• Default Setting: ON
• What it does: Allows students to use Google Web Search to import image files directly into their projects.
• Supported formats: .jpg, .png, .gif, .svg, .bmp
• Downloads are unlimited.

Consider disabling if:

• Students are distracted by searching for images instead of focusing on the lesson.
• Your school’s Wi-Fi connection is unstable, and loading images slows class progress.
• Your school has policies restricting open web searches.

3D Object Search

• Default Setting: ON
• What it does: Connects students to an external 3D assets library called Objaverse, with over 800,000 models.
• Supported formats: .obj, .mtl, .fbx, .zip, .gltf, .glb

Consider disabling if:

• Students are distracted by searching and inserting too many objects.
• Your school’s Wi-Fi struggles with high bandwidth use.
• Your school’s security policy restricts access to external libraries.

Gallery

• Default Setting: ON
• What it does: Provides access to the public gallery, where students can view and remix thousands of published projects.

Consider disabling if:

• Students are distracted by browsing projects instead of working on their own.

Important Note:

1. Remove Students Action
   • Teachers should not use the “Remove Students” action.
   • If students need to be unenrolled, please contact Hello World CS Support.
