Learning Goals

Students will:
  • Trace the history of AI from the Turing Test through modern generative and agentic systems.
  • Explain key AI concepts including narrow AI, neural networks, natural language processing, and generative AI.
  • Identify how human decisions, cultural context, and ethical questions have shaped AI development over time.
  • Evaluate the capabilities and limitations of different AI systems across eras.
  • Connect historical developments in AI to the technology students encounter today.
