Course Overview

AI Book Hook invites students to bring a scene from a favorite book to life by building an interactive 360° world. As they create, students explore how AI generates images and text—experimenting with prompting, understanding tokenization and training data, and using AI as a creative partner. The module culminates in a Book Fair, where students share their projects and explore each other's worlds.

Learning Goals

CSTA Alignment

AI Book Hook is aligned to the CSTA K–12 Computer Science Standards, with emphasis on Impacts of Computing and AI literacy. Students explore how AI systems are trained, consider the implications of non-deterministic outputs, and apply computing tools—including event-driven programming—to build original, interactive creative work.
