Section Management

  • How to manually add a Section
  • How to review the curriculum and select a Course for your section
  • How to enroll students into a Section

Note for Clever customers: Your sections will automatically sync. Please email success@helloworldcs.org instead of creating them.

How to Add a Section

1. In your Section List page, click Create New Section.

This user has 0 sections.
The Create New Section button can be found in the upper right.

2. Complete the following required fields:

  • Section Name - We recommend using the teacher's last name and their class period. For example, "Allen Period 4" would be the name of the Section.
  • School
  • Start date - This should be the start of the school term. Sections become Active on the Start Date
  • End date - This should be the end of the school term. Sections Archived on the End Date.
  • Course - Select one or more course. If you need help selecting a course, open the Course Selection Guide (located under the Course field)
    • Note that some courses will include Practice Problems, and students will be automatically enrolled into those. Course Practice Problems are optional, multiple-choice questions that offer additional opportunities for students to master content.

Creating a new Section

3. Click SAVE and continue to the Roster & Login page to Enroll your Students. To learn more, visit How to Enroll Students.

An empty section (no students enrolled)

  • If you choose to skip this step, you can always return to the Sections page, where you will find that Section under Unenrolled Sections. Once enrolled, this section will be shown under Active Sections.
